And new releases again.

Cool SL Viewer v1.19.0.5 release 44 (stable, legacy renderer)
Cool SL Viewer v1.21.6.0 release 12 (stable, Windlight renderer)
Cool SL Viewer v1.22.5.0 release 1 (still very experimental)

New patches and crash fixes. One new feature for v1.21 and v1.22 (not needed in v1.19) is the ability to remember the stats floater position and size over sessions.

All three versions also have new chat feature "OOC chat parenthesis auto-close" (can be disabled from the Cool features tab of the Preferences menu). E.g, while role-playing, when you want to speak Out Of Character (OOC), the convention is to enclose your OOC text between double parenthesis, like so "((phone call, BRB))". This new patch takes care of adding the closing "))" when they are missing, thus saving you some typing.

Enjoy, folks!

Hey I have a request: fix it so that when you are sitting down, you can look straight down. Current clients all block you from looking down any steeper than about 45° offset from pure horizontal.

Any word on this? You can just e-mail me if so... or post it as a comment here, I'll be checking back. Thanks!

I'm copying some explanation I've written before. Hope that helps.

If you have ever used Nicholaz', CV is pretty similar from look and feel. It adds a lot of patches and features that make it pretty stable compared to other viewers. Comes in Windlight and non-Windlight (faster on older hardware).

There are 3 versions, 1.19, 1.21 and 1.22. Basically they all look the same and do the same. Under the hood the differences are:
1.19: Non windlight renderer. Rock stable viewer with most glitches fixed, all latest improvements backported. This will be your best bet when you do a lot of building and are not so keen on fancy graphics. Fastest on older hardware.
1.21: Windlight renderer based on the current official LL viewer. Has some problems as the official viewer like slow loading textures, but is also a very stable platform that crashes barely. If you have recent hardware you may choose this
1.22: Windlight renderer based on the latest RC 1.22.5, with almost all the issues of the RC. Bit more stable. It supposedly loads graphics a bit faster than 1.21, but people have different experiences. Try that if you want to have the latest development but expect crashes.

There is nothing preventing you from installing all 3 in parallel in different directories. I would actually recommend this to compare and find out what suits you most.

Latest versions are 1.19.0.5 R44, 1.21.6.0 R12 and 1.22.5.0 R1 (for Linux/Windows/Mac).

and all CV versions have pre-voice UI, which could be handy for many oldbies.
All patches and patch descriptions you can see at main cool sl viewer site http://sldev.free.fr

Completely new to using alternate viewers, is there a different shortcut to open the advanced menu? Cmd+Opt+D doesn't work for me, nor does adding the shift.
