Thank you for this buikd, but I can't lauch the viewer. It keep telling me that it can't access a necessary file he needs to work.

I forgot to tell that I'm on Snow Leopard :)

The problem seems to come from this file : WARNING: loadFromFileLegacy: Unable to open control file /Users/Laurent/Library/Application Support/Kirstens S18/user_settings/settings_kirstenss18.xml. In fact it is not created in the Kirstens S18 folder

Same as reported before, no launch.

found one mac related bug,
will fix it again.
workaround:
make folder "your home folder"/Library/Caches/Kirstens S18

Hyang Zhao said...

unfortunately, it hardcoded and i gonna rebuild and reupload again.

The textures are just going crazy on my pre-Intel G4 tower. Things seem to have a reddish cast also.

it could be, try to play with graphics hardware settings and switch antialiasing off.
but i'm afraid there some hardware related things which cant be worked around easily :(

i'm not running S18 or cool sl viewer as main viewer, i just biulding them for mac's and afraid, i cant hit my head on all bugs there, so better report them here and maybe on KLee blog and Henri's forums.
my main viewer is emerald and my main attention at moment on emerald development, which is more interesting for me.

Thank you for the workaround, it works perfectly :)

A shame you aren't putting more time into the other viewers Hyang, Emerald is feature packed but slower than a Linden at a bug fixing convention. Maybe if they ever release a Snowglobe version but until then it can still bring my 2.93GHZ MBP to it's knees when Kirsten or Cool manage just fine at the same settings.

snowglobe breaking opensim.
about slower, we working on it ;)

Thanks for compiling this! I was waiting to test it!

Unfortunately it looks like it renders the wrong texture half the time (plywood clouds, stone trees, etc) for me. It looks like it is back to my combo of emerald and snowglobe.

I've noticed that too Kara. It seems to flicker through a bunch of the wrong textures before finally settling on the right ones. I've also been crashing a lot on this viewer.

It started using the right textures after I relaunched it so maybe the initial download was off? Alpha areas on textures tend to to rez in more solid until everything else is there, but maybe I am just spoiled by emerald.

I've also found Emerald to be totally unstable to the point it will vanish or lock up my MacBook Pro. I MUCH prefer CV.

Thanks so much for this, Hyang! I'm sorry that you prefer Emerald so much (I guess that the many features of Emerald are very appealing!) but for me, all I need is speed & nice graphics hehe — and Kirstens is perfect for that!

Who cares about frakkin' opensim.

Snowglobe runs like a wet dream!!!@!!! It makes SL *usable* on my MacBook Pro, whereas Cool Viewer bogs down after being open for awhile and the textures download at a snail's pace by comparison. Emerald bogs down immediately and is unusable. I like the spy radar and stuff, but Emerald is BLOATWARE plain and simple.

Hyang, thanks for all your good work.

I have to agree with Darth Ptas, Snowglobe is awesome on my MacBook, I'm loving it. Would love it if you do an occasional update on it! :)
